📸 Pet Photo Guide
Follow these simple steps to capture the best possible photo of your pet before ordering your portrait.
1. Light is Everything
Take photos in natural daylight, preferably near a window or outdoors.
Avoid strong shadows or very bright sun — soft, even light is best.
Don’t use flash — it can cause red eyes and harsh reflections.
2. Clean Your Lens
Always give your phone or camera lens a quick wipe with a soft cloth.
Smudges can make photos look blurry and dull.
3. Get Down to Eye Level
Photograph your pet at their eye height — not from above.
This creates a stronger connection and makes the portrait more engaging.
4. Keep it Sharp
Hold your camera steady or rest it on a surface.
Focus on the eyes — sharp eyes make the whole portrait come alive.
Take several shots to make sure you have at least one crisp photo.
5. Fill the Frame
Get close enough so your pet is the main subject.
Try to include the head and shoulders, or the full body if you’d like that in your artwork.
Avoid busy backgrounds — we can simplify or replace backgrounds, but clear photos help.
6. Capture Personality
Photograph your pet when they’re relaxed, happy, or curious.
Use treats, toys, or sounds to get their attention.
Don’t worry if they’re not sitting perfectly still — we can work with natural poses.
7. What to Avoid
Blurry or very dark photos.
Photos with half the face hidden or cropped out.
Screenshots or heavily compressed images from social media.
Overexposed photos where details are lost.
8. Send Us Your Best
Upload the original photo file (straight from your phone or camera).
Bigger is better — high-resolution photos produce the best results.
✨ That’s it! Even if your photo isn’t perfect, we’ll do our best to enhance it — but following these tips will help us create a portrait you’ll love.
